Nicole Ari Parker was born in New York City. She is an American actor in stage and films. Her most famous role is as Teri her passionate lawyer Teri Jospehson in the Showtime show Soul Food. Contractor who was raised by his parents in Nigeria and Mumbai before he turned seven, had traveled around the world and experienced diverse cultures when he was a kid. At the age of seven through nine, she attended boarding schools in London. Her family then relocated to Toronto where she lived for most of her childhood. Contractor studied classical ballet in Toronto. She also excelled academically. She was a student at the Etobicoke School of the Arts, a high school for the arts that was specifically designed to be a school that taught more than just dance but also theater. Contractor aged 16 at the time she realized that acting was going to be her career. She had danced for a decade. When she graduated from high school she accepted a full grant to attend at the University of Toronto, where she pursued a masters in the field of theatre, and a double major in psychology and sociology. After a single semester at the University, Contractor went to an open audition for the production Pericles at the world-class famous, world-class Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and landed the lead role. The production she appeared in earned praise from Canadian critics. The conservatory at Stratford takes eight people as well as four females and a handful of others for a weeks of crash courses. Contractor's place in the following stage season was securing and she won the role in the play as Hermia.
